Step by step
1. Fold an A4 card in half so that the fold is on the left hand side. Select three co-ordinating papers.
2. Choose one paper and attach a piece approximately 6 x 6cm to top right hand corner. Choose another paper and cut a
6 x 6 cm piece. Turn main paper over and stick the square
of paper to the top left hand side as you look at it. Score a
diagonal line 4.5cm from the corner in the main paper and
fold down. Apply double sided tape to the main paper apart
from on the double corner 4.5cm from the edge, and stick
to the front of the card.
3. Select the ‘Big H birthday’. Remove all pieces from the sheet and sandpaper the edges to give an aged look.
4. Use burgundy grosgrain ribbon – cut two lengths approximately 6cm long and attach to the ‘birthday’ panel using staples. Attach to the card front with foam pads approximately 1.5cm up from the bottom.
5. Tie one length of burgundy grosgrain and one length of burgundy organza ribbon around the ‘H’ at the middle right hand side. Attach the whole panel to the front of the card centrally.
6. On the inside of the card, choose one of your papers and cut a piece 7.5 x 6.5cm. Cut a piece of toning vellum slightly smaller. Attach the ‘wishing’ panel to the vellum and attach this to the paper under the panel. Apply the piece to the inside of the card centrally approximately 4cm down. Cut a piece of burgundy organza and tie in a loose knot. Cut the ends at a slant and attach to the vellum.
